The under 12 Blues played away to Arklow United today. We had a full compliment of players including two new players, brothers Matas and Lukas Araminas and the return of Alex Kelly to the team.

We got off to a good start, with positive play and some solid passing. There was lots of running off the ball and chances began to come for the team. Rovers scored two goals in the first half after some good passages of passing.

In the second half we made use of our subs and rotated the lads to give them a chance to experience other positions and to take a well deserved short break. Arklow United battled bravely and had some strong passages of play. They had a few corners and some near misses.

Rovers scored three more goals in the second half, and United pulled back one. Rovers ran out 5-1 winners, both Rovers and Arklow United played some excellent football, a delight to the watching spectators.

Final score: Arklow United 1 Wicklow Rovers 5.
