Founded in 1975, Wicklow Rover AFC have embarked on a long journey to reach the heights they are at today. Starting with one team, whose jerseys were purchased through money a founding member won on horses, the club now has 26 teams in total, throughout schoolboys/girls, senior ladies and men’s teams.

The club has a presence in; the WDSL, WDFL, MGL, DDSL and the Leinster Senior League. Rovers have experienced a great degree of success in all of these leagues. The club has three pitches; Whitegates, which has a five aside astro, four full sized dressing rooms and showers, a clubhouse, dugouts and floodlights, and The Rocky Road as a secondary pitch. The Hockey Pitch in Dunbur is used for its 7 and 9 aside home matches.
