Our under 11 Green team played their first match in the newly reformed U11 Development League 1A at a very hot Travers Insurance Park against a very tough Arklow Town this afternoon.

This was both teams first game playing 9v9 on the bigger pitch and neither team disappointed the attending crowd. There was very little between the two sides when Rovers went ahead after Hank Murnane whipped a lovely ball into the box that hit off an Arklow player into his own net. Arklow came back fighting and the game was very competitive throughout with Rovers clinching the game in the final minute when Freddie Kavanagh connected beautifully with his left boot to send the ball into the back of the net.

The game ended 2-0 to Rovers and we look forward to another great battle when we host Arklow Town later in the season.
