UNDER 16's BOOK SEMI FINAL SPOT

Our under 16's advanced to the semi final of the Jako cup tonight after a 2-0 win at home to Shillelagh. Rovers dominated for long periods but didn’t make the most of the chances created. It took a super strike from Lorcan Sinnott cutting in from the left to get Rovers ahead after fifteen minutes. Brandon Battams and Charlie Czwalina were working their socks off up front creating some good opportunities but Rovers still only went in at the break one to the good. The second half was as tight as the first, again Rovers created some great chances with Czwalina, Macklin, Conyard and Sinnott going close on more than one occasion. It wasn’t until twenty minutes into the second half that Rovers got their second when captain Brandon Battams broke free and finished neatly with three players around him. A good battling team performance from every member of the team tonight and another semi final to look forward to.
