Our under 18’s had a great result away to Arklow Town yesterday evening winning 5-2. Rovers raced into a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes, Mikey Merrigan with a thunderous free kick from twenty five yards and then a great finish from Alec Richardson. Rovers controlled the game without adding to the scoreboard before half time. Arklow came roaring back in the second half and made it 2-2 with Rovers guilty of not concentrating for the first ten minutes. Rovers regrouped and played better football with Alec Richardson scoring three goals in a 10 minute spell to settle the match and grab the three points.
