Our 13A’s took on St Patricks at Whitegates tonight in the semi-final of the shield. Originally this game was fixed for Kilcashel but to St Patricks credit they switched it to Whitegates so the final could go ahead at the weekend. Rovers controlled the game for large periods against a spirited St Patricks side. Rovers created a lot of good chances, Dan Farrell struck the woodwork but it was NJ Sinnott who broke the deadlock to send Rovers in one nil up at the break. The lads continued on the front foot and attacked the away side looking for the second goal, that goal came from Cillian Czwalina to give Rovers a two goal cushion. Soon after Rovers put the game to bed with a second Cillian Czwalina goal. NJ Sinnott put the icing on the cake with his second and Rovers fourth to run out 4-0 winners and a spot in the final against Arklow United A. Big thanks again to St Patricks for switching the game so the game could go ahead under the lights at Whitegates. Well done to the Rovers team and the best of luck on Sunday.
