Our under 11 Whites travelled to Arklow United this lunchtime for the latest encounter in their regular tussles this season.
Rovers needed to be at their best against this strong United side and unfortunately a poor uncharacteristic first half display saw them go in at half time 3-1 down.
An early United lead was quickly cancelled out by Mikie O'Neill to level the scores but two more good goals from Arklow before half time gave the home side a deserved lead.
There were no further goals in the second half as Rovers played more like themselves in the second period with a much improved display.
There were two stand out performers for Rovers on the day with Keeper Matthew Gough continuing to impress between the sticks and a Rovers man of the match performance from Eoghan Daye at right back.
Well done Arklow on a deserved win and well done to Rovers for giving their all.
