The under 14’s started their shield campaign with a good 5-0 win over newly promoted Newtown Juniors at Whitegates today. Rovers found a spirited Newtown side a hard nut to crack early on but they eventually broke the Juniors resistance, a brace from Naoise O'Dubhslaine to make it nine for the season and singles from Sean Patrick Guerin, Josh McCall and Ronan Phelan helped break down a spirited Newtown side and secure all three points.
