Our under 11 Green team were in fine form this afternoon when they welcomed a brave Avonmore side to Wicklow in the first round of the Jimmy Hackett Memorial Cup. Rovers got off to a flyer when Hank Murnane put Daniel Clarke through on goal who opened the scoring with a right foot strike. Clarke returned the favour a few moments later when he set up Murnane who finished nicely into the bottom corner of the net in what was a great team goal. Rovers continued to play the game with some quick sharp passing which led to further goals from Isla Hindle, Alessio Coppola Sam Reade and a lovely finish from Cian Collins in the final minutes. Avonmore battled throughout, never gave up and got their reward when a looping shot ended in the back of the Rovers net. On to the next round for our boys in green and thanks to Avonmore for a good game of football.
