WICKLOW ROVERS AFC CLUB NOTES WEEK ENDING 11th APRIL 2021

Well, we can now see a bit of light at the end of this long Covid tunnel as the recent emerging news that children’s sports can resume non-contact training providing Covid numbers keep improving. The new date for restrictions being eased regards non-contact training for kids is Monday April 26th, hopefully this will be the start of things getting back to normal. All managers will have been notified at this stage regards a safe return to training. All our managers will be notified regards a date for a club managers meeting before any training resumes. It’s of the utmost importance that all managers attend this meeting, date and time will be forwarded to you all as this meeting will have to be held within the Covid guidelines. All the previous guidelines under the FAI safe return to football will still apply so we ask all managers and coaches to abide by the guidelines. It would be great to get teams back playing so we can only hope that sometime soon we will all be back out mingling together playing and watching matches. At this moment let’s hope we can get to the first stage on April 26th and then safely progress from there. But all said the safety of all our members and friends in sport is the most important thing in these extreme times we find ourselves in. We hope all our members, their families and all our friends in sport are staying safe in these difficult times. Here’s hoping to seeing you all very soon

The club’s first 50/50 draw took place last Tuesday night the 6th of April, the draw was streamed live on the club Facebook page. The very first winner was Stephen Behan who picked up a tidy sum in the amount of €422.50 which was fifty percent of funds taking in. Stephen also had a second chance of adding to his winnings when his nominated bonus ball number 32 could have added him a further €1,000 if his number came out as the bonus ball in the main draw of the Irish National Lottery on the following night Wednesday the 7th of April, unfortunately for Stephen it wasn’t to be with the number 17 coming from the drum. Still Stephen was a winner with his 50/50 winnings the night before, congratulations Stephen. Tickets are now on sale for the second draw which will take place live on our Facebook page at 8pm on Tuesday 4th May, you can purchase your tickets online at www.wicklowroversclubshop.com or by contacting any committee member.
