For our last match of the season U10 Blues travelled to Shoreline Park to face Newcastle. The rain fell and the pitch become mucky but nothing could hide the sparkling performance we were about to witness.
From the outset this confident Rovers team pressed tackled and harried leading to a dominant 1st half showing with goals being the just reward for an impressive team effort.
With the rain continuing to fall, the second half got underway with Newcastle pushing forward. But if the 1st half was a good show the second was a testament to the culmination of the years work.
One touch football, passing, pressing, and unselfish assists meant the season was ending with a performance of real polish.
Newcastle provided a worthy opposition and it was an encounter played in the best of spirits but the season ended with football fit for the Camp Nou and a team of deservedly happy Rovers players albeit wet to the bone.
Thanks to Newcastle players and coaches for a great game and played in the spirit of the beautiful game.
