Our U14s faced a tough challenge in the first leg of their U15 Premier League Cup Quarter-Final against Ashford, but emerged with a well-earned 2-2 draw.
Despite falling behind early to an unfortunate goal, the lads showed great character and determination to fight back.
They lifted their game in the second half and deservedly leveled the score through a powerful strike from Adrian Abarca Villafranca.
The momentum continued, and the Rovers took the lead when Mathas Araminas expertly converted a corner kick. Unfortunately, Ashford managed to equalize, and despite some late chances for Wicklow, the match ended in a draw.
It was a fantastic team effort, with every player contributing to a hard-fought result. Sam was outstanding in goal, making several crucial saves, while Ronan Wynne and Tommy Morrissey controlled the midfield with composure and skill.
A big shout out to Jack Collins and Simon Lynch, who stepped up from the U13s to make a valuable contribution. We also commend the strong defensive partnership of Harry Bowen and Ben O'Leary at the back.
With the second leg taking place at Whitegates on Thursday, the tie is finely poised, and we're confident that our U14s can secure their place in the semi-final.
