Pictured is the U11 green team who made a welcomed return to action when they kicked off the new 2024 season with a home game against Avonmore FC. Both teams eased into the game in the first few minutes getting a handle on the bigger pitch and the 9v9 format. After they had settled both teams showed their attacking intentions putting together some slick passing moves and creating a lot of chances which both defenses were eager to close down as quickly as possible. Both the Wicklow and Avonmore goalkeepers deserve a lot of praise, pulling off some really fine saves. Thanks to Avonmore FC for a good game of football played in great spirits and we look forward to a return fixture soon
