Our youths A team travelled to Arklow Town tonight in the youths league and came away with a fine 4-3 win. Leading 1-0 thanks to an Evan Conyard long range effort, Arklow equalised against the run of play. Rovers went 2-1 ahead with Lorcan Sinnott's 20th strike of the season. Arklow had a penalty awarded and saved brilliantly by Matthew Keene. Arklow equalised again on the stroke of half time to leave the score 2-2. Rovers started the second half with real purpose and went close with Lorcan Sinnott twice denied by the woodwork. Sam Christieโs brilliant effort put Rovers 3-2 up before the same player provided Lorcan Sinnott with a sublime assist to go 4-2 ahead. Arklow to their credit kept plugging away and scored again from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit to one but Rovers hung on for a great win. A good performance again from the team considering they had no subs and only 11 players.
