The 13A’s travelled to Allen Park tonight to take on Aughrim Rangers in the shield and the lads returned home with all three points with a good win over the home side. The lads were very much understrength tonight with just the bare eleven. To their credit they performed well on a humid night. In the first half Rovers had man of the match Luke Connolly between the Rovers posts to thank with some excellent saves at crucial times. Rovers had Luke to thank for preserving their clean sheet. Up the other end Sam Conyard fired home a superb hat-trick, David McCormack helped himself to two goals with Ryan Cox blasting in a screamer and Tommy Morrissey completing the scoring. It was a good performance from the Rovers team and we would like to thank Aughrim for the game.
