The 13A’s were in action in Arklow Credit Union Park tonight when they took on Arklow United A in the premier shield. The lads got off to a sluggish start and before they knew it they were one down.
This seemed to be the jolt the lads needed and to their credit they played some really good football after going behind. Missing three key players this evening meant some lads played out of position. Richie Carton slotted into centre back and was very unlucky not to get man of the match. Jack Madden was very impressive at right back and he got a deserved man of the match accolade. The lads turned the game on its head to eventually run out 3-2 winners. Kale Conyard made sure Rovers left with all three points with a wonderful goal line clearance. Rovers goals came from Kuba Cielecki, David McCormack and an unfortunate own goal. A big thanks to Arklow United for what’s always an entertaining football game between the two sides.
