Our 13A’s made the short journey to Shamrock Park to take on Rathnew in the semi-final of the Premier cup today and what a thrilling game it proved to be. At the end of full time the sides were locked at 3-3 after a thrill a minute encounter. Both sides produced excellent football with great heart in an exciting local derby to keep the supporters on the edge of their seats. It went to extra time and at the end of it there was still nothing between the teams and it was on to the dreaded penalty shootout. Rathnew came out on top in the shootout winning 5-4 on the spot kicks. David McCormack notched a double with Richard Carton nabbing a single in normal time. Hard luck lads, well done Rathnew and the best of luck in the final.
