Our under 12 made the return to football today in semi-final of division 1 cup. A mix-up in KO times didn't help with Rovers arriving two hours early to bask in the early morning sun. There was a minute silence before the game in honour of team coach Richie Quinn. Rovers started well and hit the front in the tenth minute when a shot from Daniel Morrissey evaded the Carnew keeper and found the back of the net. The lead was short lived, when Carnew hit back on fourteen minutes, with a well taken goal to get back to 1-1. Both teams were evenly matched with Rovers keeper Matthew Gough putting in a fine display. 1-1 at full time, but Rovers had little left for extra time, and Carnew hit the front in the 1st period, and it was all but game over. 2-1 to Carnew on the day, so best of luck to them in the final. There were notable performances from Charlie Lawlor, Eoghan Daye, Chris Delahunt and from all the lads on a very warm day.
