Our under 12B team entertained St Anthony's in an early ko at Whitegates this morning. In a tight first half, they fell behind on the fifth minute, when the right winger for St. Anthonys spotted the Rovers keeper away from his near post and slotted in to go one nil up. Rovers made some changes and it was this combination of Cian Foley and Eoghan Quinn that got Rovers back level with some interplay and a shot from Quinn that beat the keepers finger tips and went into the top corner, 1-1 at half time. The second half was all Rovers, but it took a special strike from Captain Chris Delahunt on 52 minutes to get Rovers ahead. Picking the ball up 30 yards out, he spotted the St. Anthonys keeper off his line and struck an unstoppable shot over him that whistled into the net, 2-1 Rovers. The result was now never in question, and Seb Gould made sure on the 58th minute, cutting in from the left and hitting a fine shot passed the keeper for 3-1. Rovers defence of James Carroll, Eoghan Daye, and Rian Kavanagh were solid on the day making sure Rovers march on into the semi-final, well done to St Anthonys for a great battling performance.
