Our U12B's travelled to the community grounds in Newtown this morning in what proved to be a tight game between two good sides. There were little chances in the first half until the 28th minute when a shot from Seb Gould from just outside the box found its way into the Netwown net. Gould doubled the Rovers lead just before the break when on the 30th he again found the net with a good strike to go in at half time 2-0 up. The second half proved the same as again very little chance until Newtown had a break and shot that was well saved by Matthew Gough but was deflected goalwards and the Newtown forward had a tap in on the 41st minute. Rovers made some changes and got back on top from a corner that broke to the edge of the box, and Charle Lawlor's shot was hooked into the Newtown net by a defender as he tried to clear. Rovers had the game well under control now at 3-1 and managed a number of chances before the finish, but no further goals. A good 3-1 away win and well done to Newtown for a great performance and match.
