The under 13A's turned in a very impressive performance this morning against a good St Patricks team. Rovers started brightly and took an early one nil lead. To St Patricks credit they got back on level terms ten minutes later. Richie Carton had to come off and was a big loss as was Sam Czwalina in the Rovers goal. It was an even game with both sides creating chances. With ten minutes remaining the game saw Rovers leading 3-2 but Rovers then went into overdrive creating several good chances. Two of those chances were clinically finished to give Rovers a 5-2 victory. Rovers deserved their victory but the margin might just have flattered them a little bit as the away side were well in the game and always looked dangerous on the break. David McCormack stole the goalscoring show with a superb hat-trick, Ryan Cox and Kuba Cielecki hit singles. Man of the match was Tiernan Shorthall who led by example in the middle of the park dictating the play and covering every blade of grass. Big thanks to St Patricks for a good game of football.
