The under 13A's returned to form at Whitegates this morning when they beat Enniskerry 9-0. Captained by Daniel Coffey the lads started very quickly with a well taken header by Sam Behan from an inch perfect pass from Cathal Cannon gave Rovers the lead. Four minutes later, Naoise Delaney with his predator senses stole the ball from the Enniskerry keeper and buried the ball into the back of the net. Within five minutes David Johnston slotted a beautiful through ball to Conor Martin who powered the ball past the keeper. Enniskerry were trying hard and had a brave and agile keeper, but they met a rampant Rovers team. Luke Finnigan playing out of his normal position started a lovely move which involved Conor, David and Naoise who finished to the back of the net. Rovers next goal came from a powerful header, Daniel found Sam, who controlled it, passed to Josh and he slotted home another. And that brought us to half time. The unflappable Nathan Gough working well with the always strong Shane O'Reilly and the confident Oisin Conlon, worked their magic on the right wing, a cross to David on the edge of the box, one touch to bring the ball under control, fire, goal. Two minutes later Rovers copied the exact same work and got the exact same result. Naoise got his next from a perfect through ball from Josh after a high press from Ronin Phelan, who stole the ball. With fifteen minutes to go Rovers changed their style again to hold the ball and spray it around only when the space was created. Its hard work, but will nearly always result in space being created and a goal. Starting from the back with Josh McCann in goals, with some very clever distribution on the right brought the game tearing into Enniskerry territory. A lovely cross from Conor found Josh who pressurised the keeper to score Rovers final goal of the game. Again a huge thanks to family and friends for your continuous support.
