Our 13A team continued their excellent form with an emphatic win against Greystones Utd A at Whitegates tonight.

The lads worked really hard to put into practice what they have been learning in training and were comfortably able to switch between the many different footballing styles and systems Darren has taught them over the years. It is definitely all about the lads, but Darren Coffey must get the credit for coaching the lads to such a high standard.

There were many highlights tonight but, a special mention must go to Josh McCall, todays captain for some excellent skills, his overall contribution was fantastic with some well taken goals.

Also Sean Patrick, who works tirelessly for the team and was rewarded with a top class goal. Other goals were provided by Naoise, Killian, Conor, Shane, Sam and Cathal. All the goal scorers worked their goals intelligently. The lads played some quality football. The clean sheet for our new keeper Josh, was very important with Luke, Daniel and Jack doing solid work at the back. Almost all the goals in the game came from moves started from the back. Nathan and Oisin on the wings were also top class in driving forward or defending when needed.

The result sees Rovers maintain their position at the top of the league. The lads left the pitch with a smile and that’s the most important thing, thanks to the loyal and knowledgeable group of supporters and families who came out tonight.
