The Wicklow League premier team entertained old foes Arklow Town at Whitegates tonight. Over the years there has been some battles between the two clubs especially back in the 80's and 90's. Rovers had the better chances in the first half and when they did hit the front it was Dean Noble who netted. The second turned out to be an even affair, Rovers were leading 1-0 with fifteen minutes left on the clock and then disaster struck when Arklow levelled with a well struck free kick. Things got worse for the home side when Arklow went 2-1 up with a long range strike. With five minutes remaining Rovers deservingly equalised when Jack Fox fired home. Shane Cranny and Alan Power both went close to securing all three points but it wasn't to be on the night. The match ended with a share of the spoils, probably a fair outcome on the balance of play. Wicklow Rovers would like to welcomr our dear friend Tony Breslin back into the fold and thank him for an exciting game tonight.
