Our under 14A's took on Arklow United at Whitegates last night on what proved to be a wet miserable night. The first thirty minutes of this game saw very little between the two sides with most of the action in the middle third. The first clear cut chance fell to Arklow after thirty one minutes and they made no mistake to fire home into the bottom left hand corner to give them the lead, a lead which they maintained until the break. Six minutes into the second period the away side doubled their lead with a neat finish. Rovers did have an excellent chance to pull one back but an effort shaved the top of the crossbar. With ten minutes remaining Arklow put the game beyond Rovers reach when they added a third. Jack Neville pulled one back for Rovers late on with what proved to be a consolation.
