A very entertaining game by both sides in a sunny newtown, It was a game of two halfs. Glencormac pilled on the pressure in the first half and were awarded a penalty just after ten minutes, Luke Kelly stepped up to slot away the penalty. The Rovers defence stood firm for the remainder of the half and finished the half a bit stronger. Rovers started the second half a lot better in their search for an equaliser and had several chances. Rovers levelled matters with three minutes left when they were awarded a penalty of their own which Adam O Brien stood up to slot the penalty kick home. The match finished 1-1 and went straight to the penalty shootout. The penalties were like a rollercoaster with both teams giving others a chance by missing but Rovers progressed as winners with a sudden death penalty. The game was very even and both teams played really well.
