Our U13B team put in a fantastic second-half display to return to winning ways today, securing a brilliant 3-1 victory against a strong Arklow Utd side under glorious morning sunshine at an immaculate Finn Park in Kilcoole.

Rovers started brightly and kept the pressure on early, but couldn't quite find the final touch to make it pay off. Just before the break, a rare lapse in concentration in the Rovers defence allowed Arklow Utd to strike against the run of play and take a 1-0 lead into half-time.

The lads came out firing after the interval. The energetic Alejandro Rodriguez took complete control of the midfield with a commanding performance, strongly backed up by Jake Flynn and Nathan Doyle. The mounting pressure finally paid off when Liam Kelly finished off a slick, well-worked move down the left flank to level the scores at 1-1.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Rovers pushed forward again. The hard-working Alex Mullen got on the end of a dangerous corner delivery, smashing the ball into the roof of the net to put Rovers 2-1 ahead!

The game was sealed in the final minute with a moment of absolute quality. Christians O'Neill acrobatically intercepted an Arklow goal kick and laid the ball off to Liam Kelly, who brilliantly rounded two defenders before burying his shot into the top corner to make it 3-1.

It was a fully deserved victory for the squad after an outstanding team performance from start to finish.

Well done, lads!
