Our U15A’s edged a hard-fought encounter with Arklow United this evening, securing a 1–0 victory in a tightly contested Premier League clash. Both sides showed quality and determination throughout, making for a competitive and physical game. Chances were limited in the opening half as each team remained well organised, with defences on top and neither side willing to give an inch.
The decisive moment came six minutes into the second half. Relentless pressing from Wicklow Rovers paid off when Casey Brennan closed down the Arklow goalkeeper, forcing an error with the ball ending up in the United net.
From there, Rovers produced a disciplined and composed performance. Every player contributed, showing great work rate, organisation, and resilience to keep United at bay. Despite late pressure from the visitors, Rovers held firm to see out the win.
A strong team display and a well-earned three points for Rovers in what was a tough test against a very capable Arklow United side.
Finally, a massive thank you to our friends at St. Anthony's Kilcoole United FC for accommodating us today. We truly appreciate the use of their pitch while Whitegates remains unavailable—it’s great to see such fantastic community spirit!
