Our U15A side secured their first three points of the campaign with an impressive 3–0 victory over St. Anthony’s at Finn Park this morning.

Rovers broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when AJ Long coolly slotted home after an excellent through ball from Cian Foley. Foley was instrumental once again in the 32nd minute, providing the assist for Mikie O’Neill, who made no mistake in doubling Rovers’ lead.

Rovers had goalkeeper Matthew Gough to thank for maintaining their two-goal advantage going into halftime, as he produced a superb double save just before the break.

The second half started brightly for Rovers, and they extended their lead in the 53rd minute. Foley completed his hat-trick of assists, picking out O’Neill’s run, and the forward delivered his finest finish of the match from 18 yards.

St. Anthony’s continued to battle and were awarded a penalty in the 55th minute, but Gough once again rose to the occasion, making an excellent save to preserve his clean sheet.

Credit to St. Anthony’s for a competitive and sporting game. We look forward to meeting them again later in the season.
