Our Senior B team travelled to Avoca yesterday to take on St Pats in the Division 1 league and came away with an important 3 points and a 4-3 win.

St Pats started the better and were on top for the first 10 mins before Rovers grew into the game. Lorcan Sinnott broke down the left and played a brilliant pass for Dillon Vickers to tap home and give rovers a 1 - 0 lead. 5 mins later it was 2 - 0 when Georgie ONeill was pushed in the box and Sinnott made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Sinnott put Rovers 3 up when put through with a brilliant defence splitting pass from Nathan O'Sullivan. St Pats came back and scored 2 goals before Shane Lincoln scored the goal of the game with a brilliant 30 yard strike over the keepers head into the top corner.

Half time came with the score 4-2. The second half was a scrappy affair with both teams having chances and but neither could find the net. St Pats pulled one back with 10 mins to go but the Rovers rear guard of Terry Healy, Owen McAuley, Anton Clancy and Kevin Cawley stood firm.

A good performance all round with John Connors and Nathan Sullivan coming to the fore for Rovers. Special mention to Charlie Czwalina who made his return to competitive football after a year on the sideline with a broken leg.

Team: Charlie Czwalina, Shane Lincoln, Owen McAuLey, Anton Clancy, Georgie O'Neill, Kevin Cawley, Dillon Vickers, John Connor’s, Terry Healy, Nathan O'Sullivan, Lorcan Sinnott.

Subs: Tomas Kennedy for Lincoln, Evan Butler for Georgie O'Neill, Evan Conyard for Dillon Vickers, Euan Snell for Lorcan Sinnott.
