What a way to wrap up the season! Our 14B and 14C teams went head-to-head under the lights at Whitegates in a brilliant all-Rovers showdown. The lads know each other inside out, but once the whistle went it was game on — full of energy, tackles, and great football all round.
It was 14B who struck first after just 8 minutes when Casey Brennan — who’s been banging them in all season — fired home a cracking left-foot strike from just inside the box to make it 1–0. That’s how it stayed until halftime, thanks in part to some solid defending and a few key stops at both ends.
The second half kept the tempo high, with 14B’s stand-in keeper Aaron Lynn pulling off a couple of brilliant saves to keep his side in front. Then, on 45 minutes, Luke Mulhall burst down the left and squared it perfectly for Paddy Donnelly to tap home for 2–0. Ten minutes later, Mulhall was at it again — slipping a great ball through for Frederico Caruso, who coolly lifted it over the keeper to seal the 3–0 win.
Both teams played some fantastic football and showed great spirit from start to finish. A brilliant way to end the season — well done to all the players and coaches from both sides!
