Our u14’s returned to winning ways and produced a strong all-round performance to claim all three points at Whitegates this afternoon. The hosts made a perfect start when James Carroll combined with AJ Long to open the scoring inside the first minute. Rovers doubled their lead midway through the first half as Will Carey found Daniel Clarke with a precise pass, and he made no mistake in rounding the defender and slotting home.
Coolboy pulled one back from a dubious penalty shortly after the break, but Rovers restored their two-goal advantage late on when Carroll again turned provider, setting up Clarke to make it 3–1. Ronan Byrne was a solid presence in midfield throughout, breaking up play and keeping Rovers ticking with composed passing and strong challenges. Overall, it was a confident and composed display, built on hard work, sharp passing, and clinical finishing — another deserved win for the lads in green.
