The U15 As demonstrated incredible resilience and attacking prowess yesterday at Whitegates, overcoming an early deficit to secure a 5-2 victory against Shillelagh.
Rovers faced an early challenge, conceding two goals and falling behind 0-2. However, this setback seemed to ignite a fire in the team, spurring them into a spectacular response.
Rovers roared back, scoring three goals to take a 3-2 lead into halftime. The second half saw Rovers maintain their composure and display some excellent football. They extended their lead, ultimately securing a dominant 5-2 victory.
The goalscorers for Rovers were Dan Connolly (2), and captain Ryan Cox (2, including a stunning free kick), and David McCormack.
There were several standout performances for Rovers. Brandon Goucher worked tirelessly throughout the game, while captain Ryan Cox provided strong leadership on the pitch. Harry Bowen earned the Man of the Match award for his commanding presence in the backline. David McCormack also deserves mention for his hard work all over the pitch.
