Wicklow Rovers U15A team emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle against Arklow United to claim the Under 15s Premier League title today.  The final, held at ATFC Grounds, was a tense affair with both teams showing great determination and skill.
The first half saw Wicklow Rovers create a number of chances, with Sean O'Brien coming closest to breaking the deadlock when his audacious effort from the halfway line rattled the crossbar.  Despite some near misses inside the box, the teams went into the break goalless.
The breakthrough came just five minutes into the second half.  Sean O'Brien, proving to be a constant threat, unleashed a powerful 25-yard strike that found the bottom corner, giving Wicklow Rovers a crucial 1-0 lead.
The Rovers continued to press forward and had several opportunities to extend their advantage, but were unable to convert.  Arklow United, refusing to give up, began to push for an equalizer and almost found it with a header that cannoned off the crossbar.  However, the Wicklow Rovers defense stood strong, with goalkeeper Ted Hasler confidently dealing with every cross that came his way.
The final whistle blew with Wicklow Rovers holding on for a 1-0 victory, sparking jubilant celebrations among the players and supporters.
