Wicklow Rovers C team produced a dominant display at Whitegates this afternoon, cruising to a 5-0 win over Arklow Celtic B in their Division 3 encounter. The home side controlled the game from the outset, but it took 30 minutes for the breakthrough to arrive.  

Brian O'Sullivan, who was instrumental in the Rovers' attacking play, picked out Rory Dowling on the edge of the area, and his deflected shot found the back of the net. Just before the halftime whistle, O'Sullivan again turned provider, setting up Gary O'Connor for a composed finish to double the lead.

Rovers continued to dominate in the second half, and O'Sullivan soon grabbed his third assist of the game, heading the ball into the path of O'Connor, who produced a sublime chip over the helpless goalkeeper.  O'Connor then completed his hat-trick with a confidently taken penalty, making it 4-0 to the Rovers.

Fionn Matthews rounded off the scoring with a well-deserved fifth goal, capping a superb all-around performance from the Rovers.  The clean sheet, their first of the season, was the icing on the cake for the home side.

This impressive victory sees Wicklow Rovers C climb to 4th in the Division 3 table. A fantastic result for the lads!
