Our WDFL C team travelled to Arklow Credit Union Park to take on Arklow United last night and took home a well deserved point in what was a brilliantly contested match from both sides. After defeat for the lads in the last 2 games it was important to get back and get some points on the board.
Arklow United took the lead midway through the first half with a nice cross and finish. A great save from Rovers keeper Pat Sammon kept the lads in the game right before halftime. The second half was where the lads came alive though and took over, with Arklow defending deeper and deeper into their own half as the game went on. On the 75 minute mark Rovers were awarded a penalty and it was buried by striker Brian O Sullivan. The lads pushed until the end and were unlucky to not find a winner but a great game from both sides and a good point on the road for the lads!
