Our Senior B team traveled to Ballinalea Park this afternoon and emerged victorious with a hard-fought 4-3 win against Ashford Rovers in a thrilling WDFL Division 1 encounter.
Wicklow Rovers got off to a flying start, taking the lead within the first five minutes. A fantastic move down the right flank involving Jack Noble and Alex Sinnott culminated in a pinpoint cross to Ade Kunle, who fired home from close range.
Midway through the first half, Evan Conyard doubled the lead for Wicklow, reacting quickest to a rebound after his initial effort was saved by the Ashford keeper. Ashford Rovers managed to pull one back just before halftime, leaving the score at 2-1.
Ten minutes into the second half, Wicklow Rovers were reduced to 10 men after a player received a second yellow card. However, the introduction of Ryan Beale proved to be a game-changer. The winger scored two quick-fire goals to extend the Wicklow lead to 4-1.
