Our U14s bowed out of the U15 Premier League Cup tonight after a hard-fought 2-0 defeat to Ashford in the second leg of their quarter-final tie. This result, coupled with last week's 2-2 draw, sees Ashford progress 4-2 on aggregate.
Despite creating opportunities, the Rovers couldn't find the back of the net, while Ashford proved more clinical in front of goal. However, the lads showed tremendous spirit and determination throughout the match, working hard and encouraging each other until the final whistle.
We're incredibly proud of their effort and commitment, especially considering they are competing a year above their age group. This young team has a bright future ahead, and we'll now regroup and focus on finishing strong in the U15 league.
Well done to Ashford on their victory, and thank you to referee Jim Gilsenan for officiating the match.
