Wicklow Rovers U13C - 4

Glencormac U13 - 0

Our U13C team opened up their league campaign with a 4-0 victory against Glencormac U13. In tricky conditions, Rovers went for it from the off and were rewarded on 3 minutes when Finn Malone latched onto a cross and finished into the corner. 

A second goal came shortly after when a low Locky Mathews corner evaded everybody and went over the line at the near post. Glencormac played their way into the game and had several chances to reduce the deficit but Loukas Karamalis and the Rovers defence stood firm. 

The second half was even until Locky Mathews scored. It was a fine finish after a defence splitting pass from Federico Caruso, which left the Glencormac keeper without a chance. Rovers were then awarded a penalty, when Paddy Donnelly was taken down, after another fine Caruso pass. Up stepped Kai Jameson who calmly slotted past the Glens keeper. 

4-0 it ended but Rovers could have added to that tally except for some good goalkeeping and determined defending from Glencormac. Best performancers on the day were Luke Mulhall (Man of the Match), Kai Jameson, Callum O'Flaherty and Locky Mathews. Thanks to Glencormac and best of luck for the rest of the competition.
