Our WDFL Senior C team kicked off their campaign in style this morning with a thrilling 3-1 victory over Ballywaltrim at Whitegates.
Despite falling behind early to a swift counter-attack, the Rovers showed great character and determination to fight back. Brian O'Sullivan leveled the score with a superb half-volley just before halftime, setting the stage for an exciting second half.
The introduction of substitute Alfie Heather proved to be a game-changer. With his first touch, he latched onto a brilliant pass from O'Sullivan and coolly slotted the ball home to give Rovers the lead. He wasn't done yet, though! Minutes later, Jack Geraghty found Heather with another incisive pass, and he once again found the back of the net with a clinical finish.
The Rovers defense stood strong in the closing stages to secure the victory and a clean sheet. A fantastic start to the season for our Senior C team!
