Our U13A side hit the road early this evening for a tough away fixture against Coolboy Rangers, just six days after their first encounter. Despite challenging windy conditions, both teams delivered another captivating display of football.
Coolboy struck first, breaking the deadlock 20 minutes into the first half. Their central midfielder showcased some impressive dribbling skills, calmly slotting the ball past Ben Morrissey into the Rovers' net.
The second half saw the wind shift in our favor, and Mikie O'Neill seized the opportunity, leveling the score in the 45th minute. Coolboy nearly regained the lead moments later, but a combination of resolute defending and a crucial save from Ben Morrissey kept the scores level.
The final 10 minutes were a nail-biting affair, with Rovers pushing hard for a winner and creating several excellent chances. Unfortunately, the ball just wouldn't find the back of the net, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams left the pitch to the applause of the crowd, having delivered another thoroughly entertaining spectacle. We're already looking forward to the next chapter in this budding rivalry!
