The 13A’s took on local neighbours Rathnew A in the under 13 premier cup final. Rovers on the day were understrength with five players missing through holidays and injury. To their credit, they put it up to Rathnew, who have the Indian sign over Rovers over recent times. There is never more than a kick of the ball between the teams, and so it proved again today. Rathnew took the lead early in play and it proved to be the only goal of the game. Both sides had chances to add more goals, but both keepers were on top of their game. The lads gave it everything right up to the final whistle. Hard luck lads and congratulations to Rathnew on their success.
