Our U13A's made the short trip up the M11 this morning to take on Newtown Juniors in glorious sunshine. Rovers came home with the three points but not after a dogged display from the hosts. Daniel Clarke opened the scoring in the 15th minute from a Hank Murnane corner with Finn Murphy doubling lead minutes 10 minutes later. Newtown were looking dangerous on the counter attack, but Freddie Kavanagh secured a three goal cushion seconds before the half time whistle. Newtown had the perfect start to the second half scoring in the first few minutes, but Mikie O'Neill restored the Rovers three goal buffer minutes after. Clarke added two more to his tally to complete the hat-trick with Captain Eoghan Daye also getting in on the score sheet after some fine build up play.  Simon Lynch saved the best to last when his 25 yard free kick effort found the top corner the goal that even Caoimhin Kelleher himself wouldn't have got to. Thanks to Newtown for the game and the very best of luck for the rest of the season.
