Our senior A team were in action last night when they travelled to Arklow Credit Union Park to take on Arklow United A in the quarter finals of the Jim McLaughlin cup. It proved to be a tight affair with very little between the sides. Rovers went in front around the twenty minute mark when Davy O'Sullivan was quickest to react to the breaking ball after a good save from the home keeper to fire Rovers into the lead. In truth defences were generally on top in the first period with chances at a premium. The second half followed the same trend but both teams did rattle the woodwork. It was a workmanlike performance from the lads as they worked hard in every department, this victory sees the lads into the semi finals.
