Our under 12C team had a fantastic result away to St Anthony's B with a 3-0 victory. Rovers were on the front foot from the first whistle, scoring within the first five minutes when some great link up play by brothers Tomas and Aaron Cunha saw Aaron break through to open the scoring. St. Anthonys hit back with a long range free kick effort, which Davey Driver held onto brilliantly. After that it was Rovers creating the chances and it wasn't long before they got their second after some great work down the right side from Bella Connolly and a lovely cross from Billy Nolan to the back post for Aaron Foley to put into the back of the net with a lovely side footed finish, bringing us in two nil up at half time. Right from the second half tip, the group were in no mood to let up on their lead, and were straight after Anthonys with some brilliant chances created early on. We were very unlucky not to put the game out of sight with Tomas going close and he also had a shot coming back off the bar. The third goal finally came with some good play and great strength from Greg Rourke to hold off two defenders before finding the back of the net with a great shot. The backline of Luca Shields, Charlie Gill, and Dylan Doyle defended brilliantly throughout the game to get the clean sheet they deserved. Well played to the whole squad it was a fantastic team effort and result. Thanks to Anthonys for another good competitive game of football.
