The U13C's took on Newtown Juniors B this morning in perfect conditions. Due to players not being available, U12 players Will McConnell, Jamie McGowan, and Ryan Newsome came into the side. In a very entertaining game, Rovers started the brightest but couldn't find the breakthrough. The Newtown keeper pulled off a fine save when Luke Mulhall looked destined to score. Against the run of play, Newtown scored a very good goal, which left Loukas Karamalis without a chance. In the second half, Newtown started strongest, but were kept at bay by the Rovers defence. With eight minutes remaining, Ryan Newsome shielded the ball, played it out to Cayden O'Malley who raced towards goal. O'Malley pressed into the box and kept his goalscoring run going by unleashing an unstoppable shot into the back of the net. Rovers pressed for the winner, but Newtown held out. In what was a good team performance, there were notable performances from Man of the Match Locky Matthews, Jamie McGowan and Luke Mulhall.
