Our U13A's came out on the wrong side of a tough tussle against close rivals Rathnew at Whitegates this morning. Rovers had the better of the first half but didn't punish their opponents with their opportunites. Right on the stroke of half time Rathnew broke through the middle making Rovers keeper, Harry Waite pull off a fine save but the ball landed at the feet of an on rushing Rathnew player to slot into an empty net. There wasn't time for the restart so Rovers had to regroup at the half time break and regroup they did creating more chances throughout the second half but full credit to the Rathnew rearguard as Rovers couldn't find the back of the Rathnew net. This was a good, tough but clean game of football and we look forward to locking horns again in the near future.
