The senior ladies were in action when they were away to league leaders Camolin Celtic this morning. When they clashed earlier in the season, it was Camolin who emerged with all three points in a 6-4 victory. The girls went into this game knowing a win would see them leapfrog Camolin into top spot, and they could ask for no better incentive. The girls went about their business in a professional manner, taking the game to Camolin from the off. Rovers gave their title hopes a real positive shot in the arm as they emerged from the game with all three points after a close tense battle with the girls winning 2-1. Louise Corrigan hit both goals for Rovers, the first coming from the penalty spot. The second was a simple tap in after Molly Sweeney beat three defenders and squared the ball to Louise to finish to the net. It was a very important win for the girls, and with three games remaining, they have put themselves in pole position at the top of the league. Well done, girls on a great result and a superb all-around team performance.
