Our under 11 blue team took on near neighbours Rathnew this morning. Both teams got off to a great start on a sunny morning at Shamrock Park. With equal time on the ball, both teams were looking strong. Oliver had to work hard to keep a clean sheet, but with multiple chances by the opposition, our defences were finally broken. Rovers worked had to equalize with Jake Flynn scoring a physics miracle from the halfway line to land behind the keeper in the back of the net!
With only 2 subs, Rovers had to work hard to keep strong in defence with great performances from Alex and Louis. Another great chance from Rostyslav and Alex to secure a second goal, but despite a strong performance, Rathnew were the stronger team on the day! Great to see our newer players getting stuck in and making a strong difference!
Thanks to Rathnew for hosting this thrilling match!
