The under 13B's were involved in a great battle against Roundwood at Vartry Park this morning. It proved to be a very close encounter with chances at a premium. Both teams were solid in defence with Rovers looking most threatening from set plays. And that's how the deadlock was broken, with only four minutes left on the clock a Rovers corner was initially defended well by Roundwood but then a game of pinball ensued in the box until the ball dropped lovely to Charlie Lawlor 18 yards out. Lawlor met it beautifully on the half volley and almost ripped the net with his thunderous strike. 1-0 it finished to Rovers with another 3 hard fought points on the board. Thanks to Roundwood for a fantastic tussle, and we look forward to meeting again at Whitegates.
